St Patrick’s College Masterplan

St Patrick’s College occupies a relatively tight area in a picturesque location overlooking the water in Shorncliffe, with approximately 1400 students across years 5 to 12.  The school is split across 2 sites, separated by a road, and includes protected heritage buildings.  With burgeoning student numbers, little remaining space on ground level, and the desire to lead the way with 21st century learning environments, St Patrick’s College came to us.

Since 2017, Elevation Architecture have developed and continue to maintain the school’s masterplan.  The masterplan is a living document that currently includes 8 phases of works projecting well into the future, ensuring that the school is achieving the best value for money and will be able to accommodate future changes and demands.

To inform the masterplan, we undertook an in-depth consultation and investigation process at the school and worked collaboratively with staff, students and numerous stakeholders to fully understand their wants and needs, now and projected into the future.  We also watched the school in action and looked for new opportunities.  The result is an informed and creative living document, with the first phases including classroom refurbishments and a new café space already constructed and adding significant value to the school.
