Ann Street Presbyterian Church

The scope of this project involved extensive refurbishment to several spaces, including the entry foyer, kitchen facilities, Sunday school room and meeting spaces, in conjunction with new signage throughout.

A major priority was to transform the entry foyer into a warm and welcoming environment. In order to achieve this and to create a visual cue to the church’s identity, we introduced timber veneer paneling, a reception desk and a back lit cross which would be viewable from the prominent Ann Street. This project was vastly successful in creating flexible spaces to accommodate various purposes, activities and user groups within the church.

As there was an event which was scheduled, majority of the works were to be completed within a short timeframe. Our collaborative efforts with the builder and Fit out team facilitated in overcoming this constraint. We were able to overcome the difficulty of using concrete-look tiles in the foyer, by having the builder grind the slab down in addition to grinding the tiles down, prior to laying them. We believe this completes the elegant look of the space.

The desired project objectives and deadlines were achieved, which was facilitated through consistent dialogue and close collaboration with both the Client and Contractor throughout the design, documentation and construction processes. We have received fantastic feedback from church members, who are thrilled with the outcomes of the refurbishment.
